AXIS T8355 Digital Microphone is the first digital microphone with a S/PDIF output to carry digital audio signals between the microphone and network product. This hemispherical digital microphone collects sound from every direction (depending on your installation) to deliver high-quality recordings. Furthermore, AXIS T8355 allows for lossless audio transfer so every detail from the original audio recording is preserved.

AXIS T8355 offers a combination of supervised input and digital audio. This means you can always be sure that your microphone is up and running and hasnt been tampered with. Because the audio stream features built-in metadata, its possible to trigger events based on the communication between the sensor and any network product. Triggers can occur if, for instance, someone cuts the cables or short-circuits the microphone.

This compact microphone offers a broad range of mounting accessories to facilitate fast and flexible installation. Easily mounted on walls, ceiling, or in covert areas, it can be subtly concealed from view or visibly used as a deterrent depending on your needs. It can also be paired with AXIS Digital Audio Extension Kit making it possible to transmit the digital audio signal using an ethernet cable* up to 100 m (109 yards). And, thanks to its high resistance to electromagnetic interference (EMI), the cable can be safely placed near power cables and cables carrying high frequency signals. Its also especially useful in locations where you need distance between an audio source and a network product. For instance, in casinos and airport security control where the network product is often installed in a control room, away from the audio source. Furthermore, AXIS T8355 is powered by the network product, so no additional cables or power supplies are needed, helping minimize effort and installation costs.
