Despite being the entry model in the Arlo range, make no mistake: the Essential is great for most people.

Packing in a full HD resolution, wide-angle lens and colour night vision, there's plenty on offer.

Unfortunately, local storage requires a base hub accessory, and the battery is not user-replaceable.

The Arlo Pro 4 and Pro 3 is at an end-of-life, and has been discontinued.

It has been replaced with the Pro 4, which carries the same features plus the ability to operate without a base station.

For customers just starting with the Arlo range, we recommend the Pro 4 as it connects directly to your Wi-Fi connection and does not require an external base station (or hub).

The Pro 4 is easier and faster to setup, and has increased mobility by connecting directly to your Wi-Fi network. In some cases, you can also achieve greater connectivity with the Pro 4 as well.

The Arlo Ultra was discontinued and replaced by the Ultra 2 in late 2020.

The Ultra 2 packs the same crystal-clear 4K recording as the original Ultra, as well as the same wide-angle lens, dual LED spotlights and 12x zoom.

However, the new model adds increased connectivity range and 5Ghz dual-band Wi-Fi for optimised connectivity range and bandwidth.
